Guidance & coaching

Labour markets are undergoing change. Classical career paths are falling by the wayside; job profiles are becoming blurred. Career planning skills are gaining in importance. Getting information at an early stage, becoming familiar with professional practice and spending time on internal reflection (What are my skills? What exactly do I want?) are all needed.

Do you need assistance with careers advice, career entry or career planning? We are happy to support you through the help of the advisory services we offer.

If you desire a one-on-one consultation with us, please make an appointment by email. Briefly describe your request or concern, stating which subject you are studying, or have studied, which semester you are currently in, or when you graduated. Please include a telephone number that we can use to reach you.

Please start planning your appointment well ahead of time, as you may be required to wait a while before being seen.

We also advise you to make use of our workshops. An english presentation from our workshop "Basics of Application" can be found here.

The TUHH Career Center cooperates with the TUHH Student Counseling Center, which also offers advice to students on life after university.

The student initiative 'bonding' also runs events. Take a look here.

Application checks

In cooperation with experts for academic professions at the German Employment Agency, the TUHH Career Center can offer you a consultation concerning your current application paperwork.

In individual sessions lasting approximately 45 minutes, you can have your paperwork checked and receive detailed feedback.

The application check is also a good way to prepare for presenting yourself at business networking events and trade fairs.

Register here or ask to be put on the waiting list. We will let you know immediately once a place becomes available. Should no places be available when you are in need of immediate assistance, please contact us at the TUHH Career Center to make an appointment with us. For this, simply send us a short email.

In addition, the German Employment Agency also offers application checks and advice. In addition to our fixed application check dates, you also have the opportunity to use the open office hours for students and graduates on Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. phone: 040 - 2485 - 2370

You can obtain further information on what the German Employment Agency offers here by downloading their latest flyer.
