(Computer Science and Engineering)

Computer Science and Engineering offers Opportunities

Engineering disciplines make increasing use of computer science and math research findings, both in product development and in the products themselves, and this trend is set to grow. New results in computer science and mathematics are thus becoming an important engineering innovation factor and are therefore key competence fields for an engineer and for a university of technology.

The study of computer science and engineering teaches the basics of computer science, electrical engineering, mechanics, and engineering math. Graduates thereby learn the basics for realizing technical products and processes and for developing engineering-like IT solutions. In particular, graduates are enabled to devise combined hardware and software systems from model descriptions of technical systems. Career prospects are brilliant because the demand for engineers is so strong.

Degree: Bachelor of Science

Duration of Study: 6 semesters

On the basis of integrated computer science and engineering studies students can choose between specializing in computer science or engineering for their B.Sc.
If you are interested in greater detail we recommend you study the curriculum and the module manual as sources of information. To prepare for a successful study program we also recommend the online math bridge course.

Before Studying

Career-related Placement

Students are required to serve a ten-week career-related placement. The best time to do so is before starting their studies. We urgently recommend you to do so. Practical work may be divided into several sections or different companies. Placements/internships count as education in the tertiary sector and qualify for BAföG student loans. Please read the Internship Regulations before taking up your internship. You will find them here.

After Your B.Sc.

Further Study Programs

The following master’s study programs are available for further studies. The study duration is four semesters.
